Roulette Brief

For this brief, I was given the ‘Make it POP’ statement. Family guides for ski resorts are usually very text heavy and uninspiring for families with young children. Often the booklets
or pamphlets are aimed towards the parents. Very little do you see a family guide that encourages kids to get involved with the decision making with the parents.
To address this gap in the market, I have created a POP up family ski guide where each page is colourful and contains a pop up or interactive feature.

The first of these pop ups is a mountain range inspired straight from the Three Valleys Mountain range. This page includes a pop up mountain scene, a ‘Scratch and Sniff’ sticker which smells of hot chocolate, just like the ones you can get on the mountain and a visibility card. The visibility card can be used to view what kind of conditions you may see whilst skiing- it’s not always blue skies.

The next pop up is inspired by ice sculptures that you often find in resorts, these can range from nativity scenes at Christmas time, to skier statues. This page also features a list of fun activites and restaurants including personal favourites.

The last two pages are activity sheets for the kids (at heart) to enjoy. The colouring pencils that come with the book can be used to complete the activities. A lot of the activities are related to “Lucy”, the character running throughout the book.

Finally, here is the front and back pages of my book
