Take a stance
I was given the pro automation stance where I had to persuade the audience on my side of the argument. I looked into what our lives would be like without automation. One of the things I thought about was elderly and how they would be able to cope without automation. I decided that stairlifts are a crucial part of disabled and elderly life.
My idea was that they would take away all the escalators in the underground in London, so instead, everyone would have to walk up. Then beside them on the digital screens, there is an old man showing off, going up on a stairlift as he shouts remarks like "hurry up" and "race you to the top". This will draw everyone's attention as they struggle to get to the top. At the top of the stairs is a banner that has the slogan 'Sometimes all you need is a lift' which drives home the pro automation message.
Here is my low resolution mock-up of what my advert would look like. I would also add speakers so the man could say all his lines out loud. This would mean that even if somebody wasn't looking at the advert, their heads would be drawn to it when a random man beside them would tell them to hurry up.
