Climbers hands often struggle between sessions on the wall with calluses and sore hands. Although there are many hand creams in the cosmetics market, rough hands are not really the targeted enough. Competitors such as O’Keeffe’s “working hands” are similar to the Pocket Balm brand but are not marketed specifically towards climbers, but instead working hands in general.

 

I based my brand off the sport of climbing because it has only recently been introduced into the Olympics, in 2020. Pocket balm is a unique hand cream made for climbers with lids made from hand holds. The brands mission is to create an all natural balm that soothes climbers hands and repairs them inbetween sessions on the wall. The Eco-friendly materials create a sustainable product which blends into the “leave no trace” lifestyle that climbers usually live by.
