Musical squares

For this project, we were asked to design a record album cover. The album I was given was House Arrest by Ariel Pink. I listened to the album and did some mark-making to start off so I could get a sense of what the album was all about and to gain visual ideas. Next, I started experimenting with different materials and techniques.

I learnt how to do linoprint and did some experimentation for my front cover. I quite liked the texture that it created.

Another print technique that I trialed was white ink print. I think my spiral looked really good with this method.

This is my development for my idea. I had a few ideas for where the middle of the spiral would be and also tried different colour combinations.
